Nissan Pulsar

As car fans await the 2015 Nissan Pulsar Nismo’s official debut, they received a glimpse of what is to come from two unofficial photographs. Nissan has provided minimal information about the automobile, so the only information available was largely based in rumor. These two photos that show a small glimpse of the car as it entered the showroom provides some additional information about the upcoming fast, sporty hatchback.

The car will most likely be revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, running from October 4th to the 19th. The Pulsar Nismo is the much-anticipated version of the all-new Nissan Pulsar that was released abroad a few months ago. A few journalists were presented with an opportunity to get a sneak peak at the new model, with some leaks hitting the Internet and taking it by storm.

What will the 2015 Pulsar Nismo Look Like?

The model set to be on display in Paris will be an undisguised pre-production unit that has a few differences from the standard Pulsar, namely a different front bumper, larger air intakes, a red spoiler lip, different LED daytime running lights, better brakes (featuring performance cross-drilled brake rotors) and larger alloy wheels.

The larger air intakes give the car a sense of power and strength, which is enhanced by the grille and alterations to the LED lights. The body has also been altered, with a more aggressive and sharp side skirt, rear bumper and spoiler. The interior of the car is still a well-kept secret, but it is set to be updates as well and feature special Nismo features.

A Powerful New Hatchback

These aesthetic changes will make it a more sporty and aggressive-looking car. The differences to the body will help the car’s maneuverability with its rumored 266 horsepower output from the four-cylinder 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. This same engine is rumored to also power the Qashqui Nismo. The car may also use the same 1.6-liter engine currently used on the Nissan Juke Nismo, which has 197 horsepower in the standard model and 215 horsepower in the RS.

There are additional rumors that Nissan will also release a Pulsar Nismo S and Pulsar Nismo RS, but there are no specifications about the special features for these versions. However, they will most likely have improvements to the speed and capabilities of the car, much the same as the Nissan Juke Nismo has with its 1.6-liter engine base.

By building such a powerful hatchback, Nissan hopes to use the Pulsar Nismo to win the Nurburgring FWD crown, beating out the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy -R, which was able to complete the course in 7 minutes and 54.36 seconds. By winning the Nurburgring crown, Nissan will have international bragging rights about the speed, maneuverability and abilities of the model.

The Production of the 2015 Nissan Pulsar Nismo

This hatchback should go on sale in the second half of 2015, so the model revealed at the Paris Motor Show will most likely be a near-production concept model close to what the automobile will be like once it is manufactured, similar to Honda’s updated Civic Type R concept. However, Nissan has stated that the Pulsar Nismo is not set to be sold in the US, so American customers will have to import or look elsewhere for a powerful, compact hatchback.

If the Pulsar Nismo is able to meet the expectations, then it’s intended rivals the Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen Golf GTI may just have to watch out. This fast, sporty and aggressive hatchback will provide some serious competition. Many who have glimpsed the photographs and read all the rumors are ready to see what the 2015 Nissan Pulsar Nismo will actually offer.
